Course Objectives

This 1 hour course contains guidelines for OSHA Standards set forth by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration for dentistry. It satisfies the federally mandated OSHA training requirement for new or existing employees. All new employees must attend OSHA training within 10 days of employment and annually thereafter.

  • OSHA Standards & Mission

    Define OSHA, its mission & Standards that apply to dental practices. List examples of OSHA violations & provide a list of responsibilities specific to employers and employees.

  • Bloodborne Pathogen Standard

    Define the Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) standard, identify basic requirements, & modes of disease transmission most common to a dental office setting.

  • OSHA Standards for Dental Practices

    Define the Hazard Communication, Exit Routes, Ionizing Radiation, & Ergonomic Hazard standards, their basic requirements, & engineering controls for implementation.
