Course Objectives

This course contains OSHA Standards for dental practice settings set forth by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration. It satisfies the federally mandated OSHA training requirement for new or existing employees. All new employees must attend OSHA training within 10 days of employment & annually thereafter.

  • OSHA Standards & Mission

    Define OSHA, its mission & Standards that apply to dental practices. List examples of OSHA violations & provide a list of responsibilities specific to employers & employees.

  • Bloodborne Pathogen Standard

    Define the Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) standard, identify basic requirements, & modes of disease transmission most common to a dental office setting.

  • OSHA Standards for Dental Practices

    Define the Hazard Communication, Exit Routes, Ionizing Radiation, & Ergonomic Hazard standards, their basic requirements, & engineering controls for implementation.
